Misty Copeland’s life story is the epitome of the American dream. One of the most celebrated ballet dancers of her generation, she reached stardom without even having started to dance until she reached the age of 13.

For marine biologist Jessica Meir, this truly was a dream come true. Musing about the limitless beauty of space since her childhood, Meir successfully joined the astronaut training program in 2013 as one of 8 out of over 6.000 applicants. Succeeding in what was once a predominantly male domain, Jessica Meir made it her life goal to inspire more young women to partake in the breathtaking adventure of space exploration.

Her commitment to female empowerment on earth and far beyond has awarded her international prestige and recognition. Time Magazine awarded her the illustrious title of one of the “Most Influential People of 2020”.

When is a blog not just a blog? For environmental activist Lauren Singer, documenting her zero waste lifestyle in her blog ”Trash is for Tossers” started a battle cry for an entire generation of young people that wish to leave our planet behind better than they found it. 

Since starting her blog in 2012, Singer has become one of the most influential women in environmental activism. Suffice to say, her actions stretched far beyond collecting the waste she has created since 2012 in a 16oz mason jar and writing about it: Prior to founding The Package Free and Simply Co. in 2013, she gained political clout by working as as a sustainability manager for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. 

Her courageous activism made her an exceptional political and societal voice, not just for her fellow Millennials: Her ventures in zero-waste business practices awarded her the prestigious title of “Woman to Watch” by Business Insider. On top of that, she was called one of “50 Badass Women Changing the World” by InStyle.
